Student Assistance Counseling

The Student Assistance Program is a nation-wide, school-based prevention/intervention program focusing on students in grades 6-12.

While this program concentrates on students at risk of, or using alcohol and/or other drugs, staff also see students with concerns such as teen depression, low self-esteem, chronic truancy, grief issues, children of divorce, teen pregnancy/or early parenthood, children of alcoholics or substance abuse.

This program centers on all facets of a student's needs to determine the nature of a problem, its level of severity and whether to refer a particular student to a more intense level of service.

The Student Assistance Program is not intended to be treatment or therapy.

Our Student Assistance Counselor is employed by Mountain View Prevention Services and is available for counseling in the High School on Wednesday's and Thursdays.
