Emma Memery Honored as BOCES Career Tech All Star

West Leyden, NY — May 22, 2025

Ms. Emma Memery received a major honor last week as she was recognized as a BOCES Career Tech All Star, celebrating her outstanding achievements in the Early Education program at Glenfield BOCES. The award, a testament to her hard work and dedication, was presented during a special visit to West Leyden Elementary, where Emma is currently completing her internship in Mrs. Bator’s pre-kindergarten classroom.

Representatives from WWNY TV in Watertown were on-site to feature Emma’s story as part of a televised spotlight on local Career Tech All Stars. The momentous occasion was shared with her proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Heather Memery, as well as her BOCES instructor, Mrs. Rebecca Sweredoski, all of whom visited the school to celebrate her success and appear during the filming.

Emma has excelled in her early childhood education studies and demonstrated exceptional commitment through her hands-on internship experience at West Leyden. Her award recognizes both academic achievement and her passion for teaching young learners.

West Leyden Elementary staff also extended their congratulations, praising Emma's energy, creativity, and natural ability to connect with children.
