The Adirondack Athletics Hall of Fame will induct ten (10) new members in a halftime ceremony during the Oneida/Adirondack football game that starts at 1pm on the stadium turf at the high school.
The ten new members include:
Robert Meagher: A 1971 graduate, Meagher led the famed 1971 undefeated, sectional champion basketball team in scoring and rebounding. The 1971 Intervalley League Player of the Year, Meagher scored 19-points and grabbed 13-rebounds in the sectional title game in the Utica Auditorium against Cooperstown. A rare 4-year varsity player, Meagher scored over 1,000 points in his distinguished career.
Robin Jenks: A 1975 graduate, Jenks was a 17-time letter winner and a multiple league all-star across 4-sports. Jenks also played on 7-league championship teams and the 1974 undefeated sectional champion soccer team. On the basketball floor, Jenks averaged over 23-points per game in her junior and senior seasons and posted a school record 44-points. Jenks went to play soccer at Ithaca College.
Bradley Meagher: A 1975 graduate, Meagher was a 3-sport star that excelled on the baseball diamond. Over the course of his junior and senior seasons, Meagher posted a pitching record of 13-2. His single season strikeout record (115) and career strikeout record (255) have lasted 50-years. In the 1975 MLB Draft, Meagher was selected in the 12th round by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Sharon Gleasman: A 1977 graduate, Gleasman was a 15-time letter winner across 5-sports and was named the 1977 Female Athlete of the Year at Adirondack. Gleasman set numerous outdoor track records, started on the 1974 undefeated sectional soccer title winning team and averaged over 16 points per game on the basketball hardwood. Gleasman is also a member of the Herkimer County Community College Hall of Fame as an athlete and coach.
Brian Shoemaker: A 1987 graduate, Shoemaker was a league all-star across multiple sports. On the wrestling mat, Shoemaker became Adirondack's first sectional champion (1987) while posting a career record of 70-15-1. On the track, Shoemaker was a 3x school record setter and ACS cross country course record setter as well. Following ACS. Shoemaker graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Kristy Williams: A 1993 graduate, Williams was a 9-time letter winner across three sports and a 3-time all-star selection in basketball. Williams and the 'Cats won 2-sectional titles and posted a record of 57-14 in her playing career. In her senior season, Williams averaged over 20-points and 18-rebounds per game. In her playing career, Williams scored over 1,000-points and grabbed over 1,000 rebounds.
James Mihalko: A Boonville High School graduate, Mihalko began his teaching career at Adirondack in 1975. A Plattsburgh State Athletic Hall of Fame member, Mihalko began the boys soccer program at Adirondack in 1990. Coaching both the boys and girls programs during his coaching tenure, Mihalko posted a career record of 263-78 and 7-league titles. Mihalko's teams were always celebrated for their exceptional sportsmanship.
Pat Thomas: Coach Thomas arrived at Adirondack in 1985 and built the 'Cats into a perennial Intervalley/Center State League power. Thomas' teams won 9-consecutive league titles, posted a 40-match league win streak and recorded a 5-year stretch of contests in which the team went 80-18. In her career, Thomas' volleyball teams won over 75% of their matches.
Fred Morgan: Fred Morgan began his teaching career at Adirondack in the Fall of 1974 and his remarkable tenure at ACS spanned 5-decades. Morgan served Adirondack in nearly every single capacity, which included: teacher, coach, Varsity Club Advisor, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, Principal and ultimately, Superintendent. Morgan's love for Adirondack and dedication to the ACS community was unmeasured.
Adirondack Girls Basketball Team (1990): Coached by Reggie Porter and assisted by John Bernard, the 1990 team posted an overall record of 21-3 and won the Section III Class C-Title and a Regional Title to advance to the state final four. During the historic postseason run, the 'Cats outscored their opponents by an astonishing 18-points per game.
